Finding their own way
About Us
Each instructor puts their own spin on Tai Chi 4 Recovery. They practice and deliver it in a ways that are consistent with their own calling.
"I use Tai chi for Recovery ... to help me remain grounded and move my body with the flow of nature. I almost always practice outside and always with bare feet. I also use this practice during my art and soul workshops as well as retreats that facilitate creative self-care practices."

Our Story
Tai Chi 4 Recovery was born at a half way house in 2001 in Ballston Spa, NY. Birthed out of a need for simple, accessible, moving meditation, it is five powerful moves excerpted from a Cheng Man Ching - Yang style short form. Adapted for the recovery community, it is easy to follow and choreographed to the Serenity Prayer.
The first instructor training was in November of 2021. Those who gathered at Patricia's Pond have incorporated the practice into their own lives and are enriching the lives of others in different ways and varied settings today.
